The month of May into June showed some progress on my attempt to reduce the amount of bare figures.  It again was an eclectic group of figures that succumbed to the brush.  It was also a slow period as I decided to not count the figures as done unless I applied any transfers or decals that I had for them.



First up, are 3 15mm Pz111,  that were received from my friend Barry.  Also there is a 6mm Soviet AAA missile launcher.  



Next up is a squadron of Wildcat fighter planes for Blood Red Skies.  It adds to my collection of mainly Luftwaffe planes that I already have.  It was certainly an impulse purchase fore me.


Here we have the first chariot that I have done.  I left space for a figure at the back of the chariot.  This way, I can make it a Roman/Gaul/Celtic chariot depending on the model.



Here are the test figures for the Kingdom of Naples napoleonic Halbadeers of the Guard.  I have the rest of the Guard , so I figured why not do this obscure unit.  It is made up of extra Perry French line command figures that I frankly didn't know what to do with.



Here is a unit of Veterans for my Carthagean force that I am working on.  The figures are Victrix, with transfers from LBM, now also by Victrix. 



Lastly, we have skirmishers for the above force.

      I have come to the conclusion that any progress is good. The trick is to try to paint more figures than you acquire each month!

    Looks good. Is it even possible to paint more than you acquire? I know figures just seem to show up in my mailbox that I have memory of ordering.

      I don't know how it happens, but every now and again I have to purchase more storage boxes for the unpainted figures. Maybe an evil sorcerer has put a hex on me to buy, buy buy.

    Unfortunately I remember all the purchases, just not where in the pile the figures I need to paint to play the next game.

  UNIFORMS OF DAHARA 7 The Guard de Corps The quiet countryside of a late spring day in Dahara is shattered by the sounds of trumpets and thundering hooves.  The Guard de Corps, pride of the Army, is on the move towards the battle front with Fuddland. The sunlight shines off their gold cuirasses.  Their commanding officer, Count  Lubbock, is resplendent with his golden helmet topped with a bold red comb.  His trumpeter, Max, is in reversed colors with a white comb.  He does not ride a grey horse.  The Guard rides a matched set of Black horses from the Master's Stud.  Their tack is bold red. Daharan Blue tunics with red facings clothe all of the regiment.  Other ranks wear black combs on their golden helmets. Soon Fuddland will tumble to the sound of the guard approaching!

Painting Challenge 11

Painting Challenge Jan 27 - Feb 2 In small scale painting this week is a 6mm/1-285 scale Tornado attack aircraft from GHQ Models.  This will be used in modern micro armor games for the Cold War, as well as for the Imperial Daharan Army Air Corps. In the above photos, we have more of my Thirty Years War project.  The first one is for a 4th Shotte unit. Two shot units will be paired with a pike unit to make one larger unit.  The bottom photo is of more figures for a commanded shot unit.  I will have enough figures for several of this type of unit. Here we have more figures for my Neapolitan army.  This will complete the 1st Battalion of the 5th Regiment which wore Green facings.  A photo of the completed battalion is below.
